New Day Farms is an organic farm in Northern Virginia dedicated to growing microgreens that are both delicious and nutrient-rich. Microgreens are very small, young greens that we harvest when they are about ten days old for the highest concentration of minerals, vitamins, anti-oxidants and other nutrients.
We are passionate about helping people be healthy through our focus on restoring nutrient density to soil and food. In fact, extensive nutritional testing conducted by third-party laboratories validates that our greens contain over 20 essential vitamins and minerals.
We are part of a new generation of small American farmers bringing back peak nutrition, exceptional flavor and artisanal varieties.
Our mission is to give people an easy, delicious way to add high-value nutrition to their daily diet. We have spent 15 years developing our specialized organic growing methods. Our most important area of focus has been finding the best ways to enrich our soil with the full range of trace minerals to ensure that vital nutrients important for good health are available in our microgreens.
Our Founder, Ed Huling, is a nutritionist, researcher, environmentalist and farmer. He led a research project at the USDA about fourteen years ago, and learned about the decline of nutrients in our soil and our food. He founded New Day Farms to practice regenerative agriculture to address this serious issue and provide genuinely nutrient-dense greens to the public.
How To Use our Microgreens
Our microgreens are perfect for salads, or on sandwiches, soups, tacos or in smoothies. We sell sunflower microgreens, which are flavorful, crunchy and rich in nutrients. We also sell blends of our sunflower microgreens mixed with kale, beet, basil or radish microgreens – all of which are very popular with our customers.
